Death Stranding Director’s Cut launches on PS5 September 24, 2021

Death Stranding Director’s Cut is the definitive experience

Featuring the unique Social Strand System which allows players to stay connected with other players from around the globe*, Death Stranding Director’s Cut will enable players to experience Death Stranding, the genre-defying open world action-adventure game starring Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner, fully remastered and expanded for PS5 consoles.

Tomorrow is in your hands

In the future, a mysterious event known as the death stranding has opened a doorway between the living and the dead, leading to creatures from the afterlife roaming the fallen world marred by a desolate society.

As Sam Bridges, your mission is to deliver hope to humanity by connecting the last survivors of a decimated America.

Can you reunite the shattered world, one step at a time?

PorterS, Thank you 4 your contribution!

Before we get into the PS5 features, wanted to also confirm to the many Porters who have either just made their first delivery, or you’re off building loads of structures to help other Porters – Unite the Divided! – PlayStation 4 console save data will be transferable. We wanted to ensure that players, no matter where they are in their journey, could pick back up relatively in the same area as they left off when playing the PS4™ version, while also enabling players who have already completed the game the ability to jump to the areas where new content and equipment can be discovered.

PlayStation 5 features

  • Experience environment effects with the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback.
  • Get closer to the world of Death Stranding with bespoke adaptive trigger resistance.
  • Hear sound effects come to life in 3D Audio (requires compatible headphones).
  • Get into the action quickly with the PS5 console’s ultra-fast SSD and near-instant load times.
  • Choose from two picture modes – Performance Mode with upscaled 4K and up to 60FPS or Fidelity Mode in native 4K – both with ultra-wide and HDR support**

Deathloop, an upcoming action-adventure from Arkane Studios is due to release on 14 September 2021!

Take on the role of Colt as you search for a way to put an end to a timeloop trapping Blackreef while being hunted by the island’s inhabitants.

Use powerful weapons and abilities to take out eight key targets across the stunning and chaotic island before the day resets.

Lurking in the shadows is rival assassin Julianna whose sole mission is to take Colt out and keep the loop going. Learn from each cycle, try new paths and approaches to break the loop once and for all.

Signature Arkane gameplay

Fight to survive a deadly game of hunter vs hunted as you immerse yourself in first-person action armed with a powerful roster of otherworldly powers and savage weaponry. Choose your preferred playstyle, from sneaking your way through each level to barrelling gun-first into the fight.

Blend single-player and multiplayer gameplay

Experience the main story as Colt as attempts to break the loop and earn his freedom. You can also take control of rival assassin Julianna, sneaking into another player’s campaign and keeping him imprisoned in the loop by killing him. The multiplayer experience is optional, and players can choose to have Julianna controlled by AI within their campaign.

Knowledge is power

Each new loop in is an opportunity to learn from the past and adapt. Finding clues and uncovering hints is key to taking out targets before the day resets. Discover relationships, learn schedules and do whatever it takes to gain the necessary knowledge. Apply what you’ve learned in previous loops to devise other new strategies and eventually reach your targets.

The island of Blackreef

Explore Arkane’s artful world of multiple pathways and emergent gameplay as you immerse yourself in DEATHLOOP’s stunning, retro-future, ‘60s-inspired environment. Blackreef is a stylish wonderland imprisoning Colt, a world ruled by decadence where death has no meaning, and delinquents party forever while keeping him captive.

PS5 features

  • Stunning visuals: The PS5 console brings Arkane’s unique artistic vision to life like never before, allowing players to explore the visually stunning 1960s-inspired world of DEATHLOOP in beautiful 4k at 60fps, with HDR, Ray-traced shadows and ambient occlusion.*1
  • Fast loading: Thanks to the power of the PS5 console’s ultra-high speed SSD, your next loop is just a handful of seconds away. If at first you don’t succeed… die, die again; and don’t worry about loading times.
  • Adaptive triggers: Adaptive triggers bring new levels of immersion. Each weapon in the arsenal has a distinctive trigger pull. Blocked triggers alert players to jammed guns. Hitting or missing with a machete attack has a different sensation. With adaptive triggers, each encounter feels unique in the player’s hands.
  • Haptic feedback: Haptic Feedback allows players to feel their experience like never before in an FPS. Each ability and weapon in your arsenal gives unique feedback. Each movement type (running, climbing, sneaking) provides a different sensation. Players will feel the stark contrast of surfaces as they battle through stunning environments.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut arrives on PS5 and PS4 consoles on August 20!

We’re happy to announce that on August 20, we’ll be releasing Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut in both PS5 and PS4 consoles. This new edition comes packed not only with the original game and every piece of additional content we’ve sold to date, but a brand-new adventure for Jin alongside a bunch of new features that we’re excited to reveal.

Iki Island

If you’re a history buff, you may know that in addition to Tsushima, the neighboring island of Iki was also invaded during this time period. Today we’re excited to reveal that a whole new chapter in Jin’s journey is coming and will take place on Iki. In this new story, Jin travels to the island to investigate rumors of a Mongol presence. But soon, he finds himself caught up in events with deeply personal stakes that will force him to relive some traumatic moments from his past.

We’ll have more to share about the story of Iki soon, but today we can confirm that beyond a whole new story and new characters, this new island also features tons of new content including brand new environments to explore, new armor for Jin as well as his horse, new mini-games, new techniques, new enemy types, and much more. There are even new animals to pet!

On both platforms, Director’s Cut will also offer new Trophies to unlock for the new Iki content.

PS5 exclusive features

While Director’s Cut players on both PS4 and PS5 will be able to experience the Iki Island content, PlayStation 5 players will have access to a few additional new features.

We’ve heard your feedback about the lack of Japanese lip sync in the original version of Ghost of Tsushima, and it’s something we worked hard to address in this new release. Thanks to the PS5’s ability to render cinematics in real time, cutscenes in Ghost of Tsushima and on Iki Island on PS5 will now offer lip sync for Japanese voice over.

We’re also happy to confirm that Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and the new Iki Island expansion will all take advantage of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in the Director’s Cut. There will also be enhancements to 3D audio* on PS5, as well as drastically improved load times, 4K resolution options** and framerates targeting 60 FPS.

Transferring your progress

If you already own Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, you’ll be able to transfer your save to PS5 to pick up where you left off. For new players, the new Iki Island content will be available beginning in Act 2 of Ghost of Tsushima, after you’ve made your way to the Toyotama region.

Other updates

Alongside the Director’s Cut, anyone who already owns Ghost of Tsushima will be able to download a patch containing some new updates. Once again, many of these updates are directly thanks to the constant stream of feedback you’ve been providing us since launch, which we’re extremely appreciative of.

All players will receive a patch with some new accessibility options for alternate controller layouts, as well as the option to enable a target lock-on during combat. And for the person who tweets at us all the time asking for an option to hide your quiver during gameplay: yes, we’ll be adding that, too!

Finally, for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends fans, we’ll also be releasing some new updates, including an all-new mode that we’re excited to detail in the weeks to come. All Ghost of Tsushima: Legends*** updates will be available at no additional charge to owners of any version of Ghost of Tsushima on either platform.
